ThingsCon Amsterdam will happen again this year at 30 November and 1 December. We will continue pursuing our mission to foster the creation of a human-centric and responsible IoT. We are happy to see that the ethics in design and tech is becoming really important in the general discourse. At the same time, new developments like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) makes it even more intransparent how technology will influence behaviour of the things we use. The Internet of Things as separate concept is becoming less important, but the characteristics of connected products and physical data nodes are the new normal. We see here especially a topic for us to empower designers and makers of the new things.

The urge to make the best things will be translated into a program that caters different needs from inspiration to hands-on tools.

We will use the different steps in creating the best connected products as structure for our conference. Expect a mixture of talks and sessions on:

_Reflect; where do we come from and where do we stand
_Learn; on new insights from research
_Design; dive deep in creating connected products
_Manufacture; on tools, platforms, technologies
_Predict; what will be next?
